A bunk in a sleeper car will cost about $35-$65 extra (about the same as a night in a hostel), but you won’t lose out on a whole day of travel. These trains have special sleeper cars with bunks (usually six-bunk rooms or two-bunk rooms). If you’re traveling a long distance, consider taking an overnight train.Sleep On the Train and Extend Your Travel Time.The most popular routes usually have a train each hour so getting to where you want to go is rarely difficult. Most destinations offer multiple trains a day. That means no waiting in ticket lines and it makes planning your train travel even easier. Many rail services now offer electronic tickets that are sent directly to your phone.Just make sure that you’re able to lift your bag onto the train. There are no luggage weight limits or extra fees for multiple pieces of luggage.You simply show up a few minutes before the train leaves, buy a ticket if you don’t have one (often from a ticket machine with English instructions), and hop on the train.
